Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 5, 2026

Shortee, Inc. ("Shortee," "we," "us," or "our") provides this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and website (the "Service"). By using Shortee, you agree to these terms.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide a secure and personalized streaming experience.

Account Data:

Your name, email address, and encrypted password.

In-App Purchase Data:

We monitor transaction events from the Apple App Store and Google Play (e.g., product IDs for Tokens or Game Pass). Shortee, Inc. does not store or have access to your credit card or financial billing information; this is handled by Apple, Google, or, where card payments are offered, Stripe (see Section 8).

Infrastructure & Streaming Logs:

To deliver video, we utilize Cloudflare Stream. Cloudflare may collect technical metadata (IP address, device type, browser version) to optimize delivery, prevent DDoS attacks, and ensure streaming stability.

Usage Data:

Information on titles viewed, time spent in-app, and interactions with arcade features (e.g., High scores in Chess 3D).

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used strictly for:

  • Providing and maintaining your access to premium features (Tokens/Subscriptions).
  • Personalizing content recommendations.
  • Protecting the Service against fraud and technical abuse.
  • Complying with mandatory legal and tax obligations.

3. Sharing and "Selling" of Data

No Sale of Personal Identifiers:

Shortee does not sell your name, email address, or contact details.

Service Providers:

We share technical data with infrastructure partners (Cloudflare) and analytics providers only as necessary to operate the Service.

Legal Compliance:

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of our users and platform.

4. Third-Party Services and SDKs

Our app includes software development kits (SDKs) and uses services from the third parties listed below. Each receives the data described here for the purpose described here, and handles it under its own privacy policy.

Google AdMob (Google):

Shows ads in the app, measures them, and confirms when you finish a rewarded ad. Google's User Messaging Platform asks for and records your ad-consent choices where required. See Section 5. Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses information from apps that use its services

AppsFlyer:

Measures how people find and install Shortee, and opens the right screen when you arrive through a Shortee link. See Section 6. AppsFlyer Privacy Policy

Sentry:

Receives crash reports and error diagnostics so we can find and fix problems. See Section 7. Sentry Privacy Policy

PostHog:

Product analytics that show us which features are used. Events are linked to your Shortee user ID, never to your name or email address, and session recording is turned off. If you have an account, analytics is sent only after you agree to it, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy. If you use the app without an account, analytics is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time from the same Settings → Data & Privacy switch, without creating an account. On our website, analytics runs only after you accept it. PostHog Privacy Policy

Sign in with Google, Sign in with Apple, and Facebook Login:

If you choose to sign in with one of these services, we receive your name and email address from it to create and secure your account. We have configured the Facebook SDK not to collect your advertising ID and not to log app events automatically. Google Privacy Policy · Apple Privacy Policy · Meta Privacy Policy

Apple App Store, Google Play, and Stripe:

Process your purchases. See Section 8. Apple Privacy Policy · Google Privacy Policy · Stripe Privacy Policy

Expo Push Notifications:

If you allow notifications, the app creates a push token that we store on our servers and use to send you notifications through Expo's push service, which delivers them through Apple's or Google's notification service. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. Expo Privacy Policy

Cloudflare:

Hosts our servers, database, file storage, and video streaming. Cloudflare Privacy Policy

5. Advertising and the Advertising ID

Shortee is supported by ads served by Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising identifier (the IDFA on iOS or the advertising ID on Android) to serve and measure ads.

Your Consent:

On iOS, we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you do not allow tracking, we request only non-personalized ads. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, and in U.S. states where Google shows a privacy message, Google's User Messaging Platform asks for and records your choices, and Google applies them to ad requests. Where GDPR applies, we request only non-personalized ads unless you consent to personalized ads. If we cannot get a consent answer, we request only non-personalized ads.

Changing Your Choice:

Where Google requires it, an "Ad Privacy Choices" option lets you change or withdraw your ad consent at any time. With an account it is in Account Settings; without an account it is in Menu → Privacy Choices.

Younger Users:

We do not request ads for users who tell us they are under 13. Users who tell us they are 13 to 15 receive only non-personalized ads, and ads for users under 18 are limited to content rated for teens.

Rewarded Ads:

When you watch a rewarded ad to unlock content, we send Google your Shortee user ID and the series and chapter being unlocked, so that Google can confirm to our servers that you finished the ad.

Resetting or Limiting the Advertising ID:

On iOS, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking to turn off tracking for Shortee or for all apps. On Android, go to Settings > Google > Ads (the path can differ by device) to reset or delete your advertising ID. Turning off tracking or deleting the advertising ID means the ads you see are not based on that identifier; it does not turn off ads.

6. Attribution

AppsFlyer:

We use AppsFlyer to measure which ads and links lead to installs of Shortee, and to open the right screen when you arrive through a Shortee link. AppsFlyer receives information about your app install and your device, including the advertising ID where available. On iOS, the advertising ID (IDFA) is available only if you allow tracking through the App Tracking Transparency prompt; otherwise your install is attributed without it. On Android, the advertising ID is used unless you have deleted it in your device settings. Where Google's User Messaging Platform has recorded your consent choices, we pass them to AppsFlyer. We do not start AppsFlyer for users who tell us they are under 13.

Links From Our Website:

When you follow a link from our website to the App Store or Google Play, our servers record the marketing details of that link (such as the campaign and the referring page) together with a salted, one-way hash of your IP address and browser details. If you have agreed to analytics, the app may match your first launch to that record within one hour. The record expires after seven days.

7. Crash Reporting

We use Sentry to receive crash reports and error diagnostics from the app. These reports include technical details such as the error and where it occurred in our code, your device model and operating-system version, and the app version and update you are running. We also send Sentry performance data from a sample of app sessions. We configure Sentry not to attach personal information by default, and we do not attach your name, email address, or Shortee user ID to these reports.

8. Payments

App Store and Google Play:

In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms. We receive the transaction details (such as the product, the transaction ID, and the store's purchase token or receipt) and verify them with Apple's or Google's servers before crediting your account.

Stripe:

Card payments made on the web, such as in the Shortee creator portal, are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details in Stripe's payment form, and Shortee does not receive or store your full card number.

Purchase Records:

We keep a record of your purchases (such as the product, the transaction ID, and the date) so we can credit your account and make sure the same purchase is never credited twice.

9. Account Deletion & Data Control (Apple Guideline 5.1.1)

Shortee provides a transparent and direct path for users to exercise their right to be forgotten:

In-App Deletion:

In the app: Menu → your profile (your name) → Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account. The Settings tab is available once you have created an account.

Email Requests:

You may also request deletion by emailing support@myshortee.com with the subject "Account Deletion."

Outcome:

Upon deletion, your personal data is purged from our active databases, including your viewing history, progress, tokens, reviews, comments, favorites, achievements, game history, and subscription records. We keep a limited archive record of the deleted account (your email address, username, display name, the dates the account was created and deleted, and summary statistics such as your final token balance and the number of videos you watched) for up to seven years after deletion, after which it is deleted automatically. Any unused digital goods (Tokens) or active subscription time will be forfeited and are non-refundable.

10. U.S. State Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a resident of California or a state with similar privacy laws, you have the following rights:

Right to Know:

You may request a list of the categories of personal information we have collected about you.

Right to Opt-Out:

While we do not sell your personal identifiers, you may opt out of the sharing of your data for "cross-contextual behavioral advertising." On iOS, turn off tracking in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings > Google > Ads (the path can differ by device). Where Google shows a U.S. state privacy message, you can also use "Ad Privacy Choices" (see Section 5).

Non-Discrimination:

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

11. International Data Transfers (GDPR)

For users in the EU/UK: We process data based on your consent and our legitimate interest in providing the Service. Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We utilize standard contractual clauses to ensure your data remains protected.

12. Children's Privacy

Shortee is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such data, it will be deleted immediately.
